This tour takes in the main sites of the second-largest city of the Côte d’Azur, Nice. Located on the coast, Nice offers miles of stunning beach, which you can view from the Promenade des Anglais or by taking a boat trip on the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy exploring the Old Town with its famous flower market and discover the art of Henri Matisse by visiting the museum dedicated to his works. Just a short train ride away, you will find the Principality of Monaco, one of the wealthiest places in the world where you can admire the car collection of H.S.H the Prince of Monaco in the home of the Monaco Grand Prix.

  1. Day 1 Depart the UK
    Travel to the airport and take your flight to Nice. Upon arrival, use public transport to travel to your accommodation. Enjoy free time this afternoon to explore the local area, you could visit the Promenade des Anglais.  
  2. Day 2 Nice Old Town
    Visit the Old Town and the Flower market. You could also visit the Matisse Museum. Later you can visit Confiserie Florian gourmet sweet shop and enjoy a tasting session or take a boat trip on the Mediterranean Sea.  
  3. Day 3 Monaco
    Take the train to Monaco and explore the Old Town where you can see the changing of the guard. After, visit the Oceanographic Museum. Later, return to Nice.
  4. Day 4 Castle Hill and home
    Visit Castle Hill park this morning where you will enjoy views of the Old Town of Nice. After, travel to the airport for your flight home. Take your return flight home.
Promenade des anglais
  1. Promenade des Anglais Nice
    The Promenade des Anglais or ’Walkway of the English’ is 7km long and provides stunning views of the azure sea. It takes its name from the English aristocrats who would frequent Nice in the 18th century. Today, you will find street performers such as rollerbladers and buskers all along the promenade.
  2. Old Town Nice
    The Old Town can be reached from either the Promenade des Anglais or Place Massena, the central square of Nice. Walk along the narrow streets and discover local produce such as hand-made jewellery, perfumes and Provencal spices.
  3. Flower Market Nice
    The flower market located at Cours Saleya provides a beautiful stretch of flowers throughout the streets of Nice. Visit here to find authentic local and artisanal products and take a coffee at an open-air café.
  4. Matisse Museum Nice
    The Matisse Museum is dedicated to the artwork of Henri Matisse and offers one of the world’s largest collections of his work. Matisse spent most of his life in Nice where he became a famed artist, rivalled only by Picasso.
  5. Confiserie Florian Nice
    Confiserie Florian is a well-established name in Nice and the perfect place to sample some of the nations favourite sweets. Founded in 1949, this family-owned gourmet sweet shop offers an array of sweet treats such as confectionary, candied fruits, chocolate and artisanal products.
  6. Monaco Nice
    The Principality of Monaco is a holiday hot-spot for the rich and famous, here you can explore the idyllic old town and watch the changing of the guard, you can also view the Prince of Monaco’s classic car collection in the home of the Monaco Grand Prix.
  7. The Oceanographic Museum Nice
    Built into the side of Le Rocher, The Oceanographic Museum in Monaco offers aquariums representative of the tropics and the Mediterranean where you can view hundreds of different aquatic species. The museum itself exhibits photographs, mounted specimens, marine mammal skeletons and much more.
  8. Castle Hill Park Nice
    The Castle of Nice was built on a 92m hill which overlooks the city. Whilst the main castle was demolished in the 1700s, you can still visit the archaeological excavations and ruins of the castle and enjoy the stunning views of Nice from a height.
