  1. Day 1 Depart the UK

    Depart the UK and fly to Marrakesh.

    You will transfer to your accommodation and have some free time to explore the local area.

  2. Day 2 Marrakesh

    Spend the day in Marrakesh with a guided tour of the city. Walk to the Jemaa el-Fnaa, Souks and traditional apothecary.

  3. Day 3 High Atlas Mountains

    Today you will travel to the High Atlas Mountains and to the village of Imlil. Throughout your journey you will see the impact of the rapidly developing area on the environment and water supply.

    The village is a quiet place and has many Geological features with plate tectonics, fold mountain formations and volcanic rocks.

  4. Day 4 Activity Day

    There are a few options for today. Students could go trekking with a mountain guide, carry out fieldwork on a variety of subjects, or undertake some community work.

  5. Day 5 Travel home

    Travel back to Marrakesh for your return flight home.

  1. Valley of the Roses Morocco

    Carved by the Assif M’Goun river, the Valley of the Roses travels to the town of Kalaat M’Gouna. The area is full of local women in April and May who pick the roses to be used in nearby factories in Kalaat. The roses are then made into a variety of products from hand creams to shampoo.

  2. Sahara Desert Morocco

    Visit this natural wonder on your trip to Morocco with vast plains and sun-bake dunes. This desert dominates the south and east of Morocco and is bordered by the Atlas Mountain range.

  3. Dades River and Todra Gorges Morocco

    This spectacular canyon is where the Tora and Dades Rivers have carved out the limestone rock to form river canyons, also known as wadis. This is a popular tourist spot, although remote, where you will share the road with mules and other pack animals.

  4. Camel Riding Morocco

    Take a camel trek and be led by a guide over the vast desert dunes. You will enjoy beautiful views of the Sahara desert which are constantly changing formation with the wind.

  5. High Atlas Mountains Morocco

    The High Atlas Mountains, also know as Grand Atlas, is a mountain range that dominates the central regions of Morocco. It makes a great destination for school trips because if the volcanic rocks, tectonic plates and desert environment. There are also numerous small villages where local people farm the land and are embracing tourism to help their communities, making it the prefect destination to study all aspects of Geography.  

  6. Marrakesh Morocco

    Located at the western foothills of the Atlas Mountains, Marrakesh has as labyrinth of alleys that are home to palaces, mosques and gardens. There is much to explore in the economic centre of Morocco and the medieval walled city had thriving marketplaces, known as souks, where you can purchase textiles, jewellery and pottery.

  7. Imlil Morocco

    At 1800 metres above sea level, this small village in the high Atlas Mountains offers a view of rural life in Morocco. Students will discover the vast contract between city life in Marrakesh and the was communities live in this rural village.
